I have been studying and practicing the work of Dr Joe Dispenza since February 2018 when I was introduced to his work during the course of a 5 day Silva Method basic series workshop I attended in Glasgow.

I immediately got his first book ” Evolve your Brain” and spent hours on youtube watching various of his clips and videos. As I was reading and studying his book I purchased a number of his guided meditations ( which last at least an hour) and also signed up of his online progressive workshop. The progressive workshop is a precursor to his week long advanced retreat and covers the basics of his work. Neuroscience, genetics, epigenetics, biology, physics, quantum physics, as well as meditation and mental rehearsal. The workshop consisted of around 50 hours of videos, talks and practical meditative techniques. I have to admit it was so complicated for me that I had to watch and study it 3 times over the course of a 3 month period.

The week long retreat was held in Brighton and was full on. We were in lectures or meditative practice for 13 hours a day. He also taught the 1100 of us in attendance “The Breath” which is a fairly extreme breathing technique designed to situate and activate the Pineal gland.

The workshop started at 6am with a 90 minute meditation, followed by breakfast and then a series of lecture lessons till just before the lunch break were we meditated for another 90 minutes. The timing over the breaks changed each day depending on the lessons we were being taught. We finished the days sessions around 7 to 8pm with another 90 minute meditation. After the evening session we went away in out teams of around 50 for a debriefing session with out team leaders.

The process about remained the same throughout the first 3 days. From day 4 & 5 we were outside on the beach doing a walking meditation for 90 minutes. Can you imagine what the locals in Brighton must have been thinking going to work at 6am and watching 1100 people engaged in walking meditation on the beach in the middle of the British winter!!!

Days 6 & 7 involved 4am starts were we did a 4 hour pineal gland meditation. Yes FOUR hours………. this was followed by our usual two other 90 meditations throughout the day.

This was an amazing retreat and I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to work on myself for this week.
