Dynamic Breathing & Stress Management Workshop

This will be a very practical workshop with a number of breathing exercise’s everyone will be guided through including deep abdominal breathing, self-induced relaxation and HeartMaths heart Coherence technique. There will also be two guided meditations.
We will also look at the health benefits of gradual cold exposure, including some basic instructions to start will cold showers.
As well as learning simple breath work techniques to regulate the autonomic nervous system (The fight or flight response), we will also use a combination of NLP, Stress management and meditative techniques that when consistently practised will build much more resilience to the stresses of everyday living.
Stress is becoming an increasingly challenging problem for many people from all backgrounds. The Health & Safety executive stress in the workplace report 2018 found that:
· 595,000 workers suffering from work-related stress, depression or anxiety (new or long-standing) in 2017/18 (526,000 in 2016/17
· 15.4 million working days lost due to work-related stress, depression or anxiety in 2017/18 (12.5 million in 2016/17)
· In 2017/18 stress, depression or anxiety accounted for 44% of all work-related ill health cases and 49% of all working days lost due to ill health. (40% in 2016/17)
It’s estimated that 95% of disease is caused by lifestyle choices, toxic environmental issues and chronic stress. It is widely known that human beings can switch on the stress response by thought alone, imagining some future event as a worst-case scenario is enough to create the chemicals of stress in our bodies……………It is also widely reported that we have between 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts a day and 90% of these thoughts are the same as yesterday. (Ref Dr Joe Dispenza) Therefore, if we don’t act to change how we think and interpret the world through our senses we are heading towards compromise immune systems, psychological breakdown and ultimately disease.
We believe that when we know better we do better. To downgrade the effects of stress we need to educate ourselves on what stress is, what happens to us during the stress response, and what the short term physical and psychological effects of stress are?
When we manage stress we achieve our goals quicker but also produce optimum performance in our relationships, work life and sporting performances.
